Mr. Kristian
BOARD CERTIFIED AND LICENSED MASTER’S LEVEL SPEECH/LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

Mr. Kristian Wontroba is a highly experienced and deeply compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist at Bright Start Therapy. With over 15 years of experience serving pediatric clients across educational, clinical, and teletherapy settings, he brings a wealth of knowledge, patience, and passion to every child he works with.
Mr. Kristian earned his Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology and Audiology from West Virginia University, graduating magna cum laude, and his Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from what is now PennWest Edinboro in Pennsylvania, where he also served as Treasurer for the Speech & Hearing Club.
He is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and holds licensure to practice in several states, including Maine. His professional expertise includes treating children with articulation and phonological disorders, receptive and expressive language delays, fluency impairments, hearing impairments, pragmatic language challenges, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. He is also highly skilled in the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), including PECS and high-tech speech-generating devices.
Mr. Kristian is known for his ability to create meaningful, measurable IEP goals that support both academic and functional progress. He thoughtfully integrates evidence-based strategies and collaborates closely with families, educators, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure success across all environments. His background includes extensive experience providing in-person and virtual therapy services, and he is comfortable navigating digital platforms and IEP systems.
At Bright Start Therapy, Mr. Kristian thrives in the center’s collaborative and supportive culture. He appreciates the dedication of the staff and the opportunity to build strong, lasting relationships with both children and their families. What brings him the most fulfillment in his work is watching children build confidence and pride as they make communication breakthroughs—milestones that once seemed out of reach.
Outside of his clinical work, Mr. Kristian is a man of many interests. He enjoys hiking, photography, stargazing, and studying astronomy and space science. He also has a creative side, expressing himself through electronic music production and reading, especially military history. A fun fact: he grew up in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, the hometown of General George C. Marshall—a connection he finds inspiring. His diverse interests bring a well-rounded, engaging, and imaginative perspective to the therapy he provides.
Bright Start Therapy is proud to have Mr. Kristian on the team, where he continues to help children unlock their potential through compassionate, individualized care.
